Summer 2013
The i2 Camp organization will be teaching a series of workshops in New York, Massachusetts, and New Jersey based on the e-textiles curriculum Kanjun designed. For more information and to register, see: http://www.i2camp.org/

June 9-15, 2013
Leah will be teaching a workshop titled Crafting Electricity at Shakerag in Sewanee Tennessee. For more information and to register see: http://www.shakerag.org/.

We were invited to conduct a lamp-building workshop at the Stanford Transformative Technologies Learning Lab using a new version of the Codeable Objects lamp software. During the workshop, educators used a combination of computational design and laser cutters to create colorful paper lamps, while discussing the educational potential of combining programing with digital fabrication.

November 14-15, 2012
New York, NY and Chicago, IL
Jennifer and Leah lead professional development workshops on Computational Textiles with the HIVE Learning Networks in New York and Chicago. More information: http://www.hivefashion.org/

Over a two-week workshop, we assisted young people in the use of computational design and digital fabrication to create clothing and fashion accessories. Participants used a general version of the Codeable Objects programing tool in conjunction with laser cutters, CNC embroidery and traditional crafting techniques to realize their garment creations. Following the completion of the workshop, the students’ creations were modeled on the runway during Boston fashion week.

Oct. 12, 2012
We were invited to share paper electronics at the unschooling center Open Connections.

Using a new formulation of conductive silver ink–explore electronics, circuits, sensing, while drawing on paper. We’ll walk you through the basics of electronics design–and then cut you loose to design your electric drawings. A workshop in collaboration with Analisa Russo of UIUC’s Lewis Research Group.

Storytelling w/ Conductive Paint, Crafts, and Sound
Saturday, September 8, 2012, 9:00 – 12:00
As part of our research into craft, technology, and toolkits, we will be conducting a workshop drawing interactive, story-book narratives with new tools that we’ve developed.
We will work with conductive paints and art materials, as well as an special hardware, to draw interactive [...]

Programming with microcontrollers and paper-based circuits
Saturday, July 7, 2012, 1 – 6PM
In this workshop, we’ll combine electronics and programming with papercraft. We’ll use conductive silver ink, microcontrollers, and LED lights to make circuits on paper cutouts. We’ll also write our own programs to control the behavior of our circuits. We will discuss technology and [...]
